Every year, Ghana sets aside a special day to say thank you to the men and women who wake up early, head to their farms and fishing grounds, and work tirelessly to put food on the tables of families across the country. On Friday, December 5, 2025, New Juaben South joined the rest of the nation in doing exactly that, and it was a celebration to remember.

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, marked the 41st National Farmers Day at the forecourt of the Koforidua Youth Resource Center in a colourful and heartwarming ceremony that brought together farmers, fisherfolk, agricultural extension officers, and community stakeholders for a day of recognition, appreciation, and shared pride.

The atmosphere was warm and festive as the municipality gathered to honour the people whose hard work and dedication continue to drive food security and economic development in New Juaben South. Farmers who have given so much to their communities came dressed for the occasion, proud and deserving of every moment of recognition that the day had to offer.

The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of awards to outstanding farmers across various categories. Each award recognised individuals who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to farming, their embrace of innovation, and their dedication to sustainable agricultural practices that continue to strengthen the local economy and feed the communities of New Juaben South year after year.

Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, expressed his deep admiration for the farming community of New Juaben South. He commended their hard work, their resilience through challenging seasons, and their steadfast commitment to keeping the municipality and the nation fed. He reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to continuing to support the agricultural sector through improved extension services, better access to resources, and policies that put the needs and interests of farmers first.

His message was one of partnership and encouragement. The Assembly, he made clear, sees the farmers of New Juaben South not just as recipients of support but as true partners in the development of the municipality, people whose work is central to every growth story the community has to tell.

As the 41st National Farmers Day celebrations wrapped up in Koforidua, the mood was one of gratitude, pride, and renewed energy. The day served as a timely reminder of just how important the agricultural community is to the soul and the strength of New Juaben South.

To every farmer and fisherfolk in the municipality, the message from the Assembly is simple and sincere: your work matters, your contributions are valued, and New Juaben South is proud of every one of you. Together, we grow. Together, we build.
