Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye is a Ghanaian public servant, politician, and administrator currently serving as the Municipal Chief Executive for the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He is widely recognised for his leadership in local governance, disaster management, and community development. Professional Background
Before his appointment as Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye served as the Eastern Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), where he played a pivotal role in disaster preparedness, emergency response coordination, flood prevention advocacy, and public education on environmental sanitation and safety.
His tenure at NADMO earned him wide recognition for promoting proactive and community centred measures aimed at reducing the impact of disasters and protecting the lives and property of residents across the Eastern Region. The experience gained during this period shaped his practical, people first approach to governance and public administration, and laid a strong foundation for his transition into municipal leadership.
Political Career
Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye is an active and long standing member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and has contributed significantly to party organisation and grassroots political activities within the Eastern Region over many years. He served as the Eastern Regional First Vice Chairman of the NDC, a role that deepened his understanding of regional governance, political administration, and community leadership.
His dedication to the party and to the people of the Eastern Region, combined with his extensive experience in public service, strengthened his influence in regional politics and positioned him as one of the most respected and trusted figures in the NDC's Eastern Regional structure.
Appointment as Municipal Chief Executive
In May 2025, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye was nominated by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama as the Municipal Chief Executive for the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly. His nomination was met with overwhelming support, and he subsequently received a unanimous endorsement from Assembly Members, securing 100 percent approval during the confirmation process held at the Municipal Assembly Hall in Koforidua.
Following his confirmation and swearing in, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye pledged to provide inclusive, transparent, and people centred leadership aimed at accelerating socio economic development within the municipality. He emphasised the importance of collaboration with traditional authorities, assembly members, development partners, and residents to improve governance, enhance service delivery, and build a municipality that works for everyone.

As Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye is focused on driving sustainable development across all communities in New Juaben South.
