About this department

The Finance Department is responsible for all financial operations of the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, including revenue collection, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, and is headed by the Municipal Finance Officer.

Our objectives

The department exists to ensure sound financial management of municipal resources, maximise revenue mobilisation for the Assembly, and maintain accountability and transparency in all financial transactions.

Roles & functions

The department prepares and manages the annual budget and Fee-Fixing Resolution, collects rates, taxes, fees, and levies, and maintains financial records for audit purposes. It disburses funds for approved programmes and projects, prepares nominal rolls for salary administration, and advises the Assembly on financial matters and cost implications. It also serves as the primary revenue and expenditure management body for the Assembly, ensures compliance with the Public Financial Management Act, and supports the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee.
