About this department

The Information Services Department (ISD) of the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly is a decentralised department of the national Information Services Department operating at the municipal level. It is mandated to disseminate information on government and Assembly policies, programmes, and activities to the people of the municipality, and to gather and transmit feedback from the public to both the Assembly and the Ministry of Information.

Our objectives

The department exists to promote public awareness and participation by communicating government and Assembly policies, programmes, and activities to residents across the municipality. It also seeks to gather and provide accurate and timely feedback on public perception of government programmes to support policy review and development planning.

Roles & functions

The department creates awareness of government and Assembly policies, programmes, and activities through effective communication strategies across all 34 electoral areas. It sensitises and educates citizens on Assembly activities including health campaigns, revenue mobilisation drives, and public safety issues. The department collates and assesses public reactions to government and Assembly programmes and keeps management of the Assembly informed of local developments and community concerns. It guides the activities of community information centres and community radio stations within the municipality to promote accurate information and reduce misinformation.
