The Maiden Eastern Expo 2026 has officially opened at Jackson Park in Koforidua, marking a significant milestone in showcasing the rich economic, cultural, tourism and investment potential of Ghana’s Eastern Region.
The eight day exposition, held under the theme “Unlocking Opportunities for Sustainable Trade, Tourism and Investment,” was officially opened on Saturday, September 26, 2026, bringing together key stakeholders, businesses, traditional leaders, government officials, investors and members of the public.
The opening ceremony was performed on behalf of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama by the Presidential Advisor for the 24 Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development, Hon. Augustus Obuadum Tanoh.
The event was graced by the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, and other distinguished dignitaries.
Also in attendance were the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, and the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North, Hon. Samuel Adongo, alongside representatives from the various districts and municipalities across the Eastern Region.
As the proud host of the Maiden Eastern Expo, the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly welcomes participants, exhibitors, investors and visitors from across Ghana and beyond to Koforidua.
The Expo provides a unique platform for businesses, entrepreneurs, producers, innovators and institutions to connect, showcase their products and services, explore partnerships and unlock new opportunities for sustainable economic development.
With participation from the region’s 33 districts, the Eastern Expo 2026 represents a collective celebration of the diverse strengths and opportunities within the Eastern Region.
From agriculture and agribusiness to tourism, trade, manufacturing, culture and innovation, the Expo demonstrates the enormous potential of the region and its contribution to Ghana’s economic growth.
The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly is proud to be at the centre of this historic occasion and remains committed to promoting initiatives that create opportunities for investment, entrepreneurship, job creation and sustainable development.
