The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has handed over 700 mono desks to 11 selected schools across the Municipality as part of efforts to address furniture shortages and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils.

The presentation took place on Friday, August 14, 2026, and forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting quality education and improving the conditions under which teaching and learning take place within the Municipality.

The beneficiary schools are AME Zion Primary A and B, Wesley Methodist Basic B, Bonya King of Glory, Densuano Basic M/A, Good Shepherd Korle Nkwanta, Trom Nyeredee M/A, RHS Presby Basic C, Adweso DA, Nyeredee Agavanya R/C, ADA Kyeremate Basic B, and MAHD DEEN JHS.

In addition to the 700 mono desks, the schools received 20 teachers’ tables and chairs, 15 cupboards, 20 hexagonal chairs and 20 hexagonal tables for KG classrooms. The items also included 10 Headteachers’ chairs and five swivel chairs for offices, among other educational furniture.

The intervention is expected to ease the pressure caused by inadequate furniture in the beneficiary schools and provide pupils with better conditions for effective classroom participation. It will also support teachers and school administrators by providing essential furniture for classrooms and offices.

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly remains committed to investing in education as a key pillar of sustainable development. Through initiatives such as this, the Assembly continues to work with stakeholders to improve educational infrastructure and create an environment where children can learn, grow and achieve their full potential.

The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to working together with schools, communities and other stakeholders to address pressing educational needs across the Municipality.
