The Municipal Chief Executive of New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, on Sunday, April 26, 2026, joined the people of Koforidua at the Koforidua Palace to observe the Akwasidae, a sacred Akan festival that celebrates heritage, unity, and the enduring bond between leadership and the people.
The Akwasidae is one of the most revered occasions in the Akan calendar, observed every six weeks as a time for communities to honour their ancestors, renew their spiritual and cultural bonds, and reaffirm the relationship between traditional leadership and the people they serve. The presence of the MCE at this cherished gathering sent a powerful and symbolic message of solidarity, respect, and shared identity between the Assembly and the community of New Juaben South.
Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye's attendance at the sacred occasion reflects the Assembly's deep respect for tradition and its unwavering commitment to walking alongside the community in all aspects of life, not only in governance and development but in culture, heritage, and the preservation of the values that define the people of New Juaben South.
The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has consistently demonstrated that strong and effective local governance is not built on policies and projects alone but on genuine connection with the people, a connection rooted in shared culture, mutual respect, and a collective sense of purpose and belonging.
As the Assembly continues its work of building a stronger and more prosperous New Juaben South, occasions such as the Akwasidae serve as a timely and meaningful reminder that true development must always be grounded in the identity, traditions, and aspirations of the people it is meant to serve.
The people of New Juaben South remain united in purpose, honouring the customs of their ancestors while building together toward a brighter future for their beloved municipality.
