The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, has honoured an invitation as Guest Speaker at the 2026 Nurses and Midwives Week Celebration organised by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), New Juaben North and South Branch.
The celebration, held under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” brought together nurses, midwives and other stakeholders in the health sector to recognise their contributions to healthcare delivery and highlight the critical role they play in promoting the health and wellbeing of communities.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye commended nurses and midwives across the New Juaben North and South Municipalities for their dedication, sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the delivery of quality healthcare.
He acknowledged the demanding nature of their profession and expressed appreciation for the vital services they provide to patients and communities, often under challenging circumstances.
The MCE encouraged nurses and midwives to continue serving with commitment, compassion and professionalism, emphasising the importance of treating patients with dignity and maintaining the highest standards of care in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Hon. Owusu Boakye further reaffirmed the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly's appreciation and support for nurses and midwives, recognising them as essential partners in achieving improved healthcare outcomes within the Municipality.
He noted that empowering healthcare professionals with the necessary support, resources and conducive working environments remains important to strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring better outcomes for residents.
The celebration provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the achievements, challenges and future of the nursing and midwifery profession while strengthening collaboration among healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
