New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, September 7, 2026
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, together with a delegation from the Common Fund, has undertaken an inspection tour of selected ongoing and completed development projects across the Municipality.
The visit formed part of the Assembly's continued efforts to monitor project execution, assess progress and ensure that development initiatives are delivered to the required standards and ultimately translate into meaningful benefits for residents.
The delegation visited a number of project sites, including the Agavenya Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound, Galoway Basic School, the School for the Deaf, and the redevelopment of the Jackson Park dumping site.
At the various locations, the MCE and the Common Fund delegation assessed the progress and state of the projects while engaging with relevant stakeholders on issues relating to implementation, completion and the effective utilisation of the facilities.
The inspection of the Agavenya CHPS Compound underscored the Assembly's commitment to improving access to quality healthcare services within the Municipality, particularly at the community level. The facility is expected to contribute to bringing essential healthcare services closer to residents within its catchment area.
At Galoway Basic School and the School for the Deaf, the delegation examined developments aimed at improving the learning environment and supporting the educational needs of pupils. The visits highlighted the importance of providing safe, appropriate and conducive facilities to enhance teaching and learning.
The delegation also inspected the redevelopment of the Jackson Park dumping site, an initiative aimed at transforming the area and addressing environmental and sanitation concerns. The redevelopment forms part of broader efforts to improve the Municipality's urban environment and promote a cleaner and more sustainable community.
Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye emphasised the importance of regular monitoring of development projects to ensure that public resources are used efficiently and that projects are completed to serve their intended purposes.
The Assembly, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and development partners, remains committed to strengthening project monitoring and accountability while prioritising initiatives that respond to the needs and aspirations of residents of the New Juaben South Municipality.
The inspection further demonstrates the Assembly's commitment to ensuring that investments in infrastructure and public services contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development and improved quality of life of residents.
