New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, September 8, 2026
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, together with the Regional Director of Education, has visited selected basic schools within the Municipality to welcome newly enrolled Kindergarten One (KG1) pupils as they commenced their first day of school.
The visit took place at Adweso Mile 50 Basic School, Adweso SDA Basic School and Trinity Royal Basic School, where the MCE interacted with the young learners, teachers and school authorities as part of efforts to promote a smooth and positive transition into formal education.
As part of the visit, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye presented the KG1 pupils with essential learning materials, including books, pencils and erasers, to support them as they begin their educational journey. The pupils were also presented with drinks and biscuits to make their first day at school a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Addressing the pupils, the MCE encouraged them to be attentive, disciplined and diligent in their studies, stressing the importance of taking their education seriously from an early age. He urged them to listen to their teachers, participate actively in lessons and cultivate good habits that would contribute to their academic and personal development.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the MCE to engage with teachers and school authorities on the importance of creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment for young children, particularly those experiencing their first exposure to formal classroom education.
The initiative reflects the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly's continued commitment to supporting education and promoting the welfare of pupils across the Municipality. By providing basic learning materials and creating a warm reception for newly enrolled pupils, the Assembly seeks to ease the transition into school for both children and their parents while encouraging a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
The Assembly remains committed to working closely with education stakeholders to improve educational outcomes and ensure that children within the Municipality have the support and opportunities needed to thrive.
