KOFORIDUA, EASTERN REGION – JUNE 10, 2025
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly (NJSMA), Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, embarked on a monitoring tour of various senior high schools within the municipality to assess the conduct of the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The exercise, undertaken in collaboration with officials from the Municipal Education Directorate, formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to promoting quality education and ensuring that candidates sit for their examinations under conducive, secure, and well-organized conditions.
During the tour, the MCE visited SECTECH, New Juaben Senior High School, and PENSEC, where he observed examination proceedings and engaged with school authorities and examination officials on the progress of the examinations.
ASSESSING EXAMINATION ARRANGEMENTS
At each school, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye inspected the examination environment and interacted with supervisors, invigilators, and administrators to gain first-hand information on the conduct of the examinations. Discussions focused on the preparedness of the schools, adherence to examination regulations, and the overall welfare of candidates.
The MCE expressed satisfaction with the smooth and orderly manner in which the examinations were being conducted. He commended school authorities, teachers, and examination officials for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for candidates.
He further noted that maintaining high standards during public examinations is essential in safeguarding the credibility of Ghana’s educational system and promoting academic excellence among students.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO CANDIDATES
During his interactions with candidates, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye encouraged them to remain focused, confident, and determined throughout the examination period. He urged them to approach each paper with a positive mindset and to rely on the knowledge and skills they have acquired through years of study and preparation.
The MCE also advised candidates to avoid examination malpractice and uphold the values of honesty, discipline, and integrity, emphasizing that success achieved through hard work and dedication is more rewarding and enduring.
He assured the students that the Assembly remains committed to creating an enabling environment that supports teaching and learning and provides opportunities for young people to excel academically and professionally.
COMMITMENT TO EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye reiterated the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly’s commitment to supporting educational development across the municipality. He emphasized that education remains a key driver of socio-economic growth and national development and that investing in the youth is critical to building a prosperous future.
According to him, the Assembly will continue to collaborate with the Ghana Education Service, school authorities, parents, and other stakeholders to improve educational outcomes and strengthen the quality of education within the municipality.
