The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, on Wednesday, June 4, 2026, held a send-off ceremony in honour of Mr. Edward Abazing, the outgoing Municipal Coordinating Director, as he departs for a new posting. The occasion brought together staff and leadership to celebrate a man whose distinguished career in public service has spanned nearly three decades.
The ceremony was chaired by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Abazing for his commitment, professionalism, and teamwork throughout his tenure at the Assembly.
A Career of Distinction
Mr. Abazing’s career with the Local Government Service began on 27th March 1997, marking the start of an illustrious journey of dedicated public service. Over the course of his career, he served in twelve Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies across seven regions of Ghana, a testament to his adaptability, vast experience, and deep institutional knowledge.
He assumed duty at the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly on 15th June 2021, and since then exemplified excellence in leadership and administration. His tenure was marked by diligence, wisdom, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility, which significantly strengthened the effective functioning and development of the Municipality.
A Leader and a Mentor
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Abazing will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour and the strong rapport he maintained with staff. He was approachable, warm, and genuinely concerned for others. His open-door policy created an environment of trust, respect, and collaboration, making him not only a leader but also a mentor and friend to many.

As Mr. Abazing leaves the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly to take up his next assignment, the Assembly acknowledges his invaluable contributions and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. His time here has strengthened the Assembly and positively impacted everyone who had the privilege to work with him.
