The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, hosted a crucial Stakeholder Engagement Meeting on the Draft Municipal Spatial Development Framework and Structure Plan at the Assembly Hall in Koforidua, marking a significant milestone in the long term planning and physical development of the municipality.

The engagement brought together a broad and distinguished cross section of key stakeholders whose input and expertise are central to shaping the future of New Juaben South. In attendance were members of the Spatial Planning Committee, the Technical Sub Committee, the Municipal Planning Coordinating Unit, the LUSPA Director, representatives of the New Juaben Traditional Council, Civil Society Organisations, and the Regional Economic Planning Officer from the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council.

At the heart of the meeting was the presentation and discussion of the Draft Municipal Spatial Development Framework and Structure Plan, a strategic 20 year development blueprint prepared in collaboration with Global Development Associates. The framework is designed to guide the spatial and physical transformation of New Juaben South over the next two decades, providing a comprehensive and forward looking roadmap for land use, infrastructure development, environmental management, and sustainable urban growth across the municipality.

The Spatial Development Framework represents one of the most important planning documents the Assembly has ever undertaken, as it will serve as the foundation upon which all major development decisions, investments, and land use policies within New Juaben South will be anchored for the next 20 years. Its preparation in collaboration with Global Development Associates reflects the Assembly's commitment to applying professional expertise and best practice standards to the planning and development of the municipality.

Stakeholders were given the opportunity to review the draft framework, ask questions, share their perspectives, and contribute their local knowledge and community insights to the planning process. The Assembly firmly believes that meaningful and lasting development can only be achieved when the voices of the people, their traditional leaders, civil society, and technical experts are all part of the conversation.

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly remains committed to building a municipality that is well planned, sustainably developed, and responsive to the needs of all its residents, and the successful stakeholder engagement on the Draft Spatial Development Framework is a proud and important step in that direction. Together, we build.
